Incoming Update

Aloha! We hope that you are enjoying your weekend and enhancing it with some Pakalolo Pua Mana (Marijuana Flower Power). Perhaps relaxing after a long week of work or getting out in warming weather as we creep closer to spring. We have a tad bit of news on what is incoming to Pakalolo Supply Company. Some of this news relates to a certain type of product that many of you have been patiently waiting for…. BUT we will get to that in just a minute but first we want to give you an update on the seeds our new signature Hawaiian strains that we started last week. Those precious, rare seeds of Maui Mango Diesel and the Caramel Kona Coffee Kush are now the upgraded status of…. SEEDLINGS! While that may seem like minor news it is very reassuring that the seeds are showing signs of the beginning of a healthy plant life.  It is especially exciting because these are two new strains that were just recently bred.  Just to emphasize that, it did not exist a year ago.  When you walk out of our store with a gold poptop containing one of these strains, you will know that you are among the first people in the world, besides a select group of Hawaiians, to experience the Maui Mango Diesel and the Caramel Kona Coffee Kush! I personally think that’s pretty darn cool.  Can’t wait to pop a few of those gold poptops and be transported to the tropical islands myself.  Everyone could use a vacation!

In other news, the addition of clones to our retail selection has been quite the hit.  People of all levels of experience, from first timers to veterans, are walking out with a baby plant in hand (that we have packaged securely of course).  It is really fun to speak with those who have never grown marijuana about possibly purchasing clones. You see the wheels in their head start to turn, realizing the potential of that baby plant as they begin working out how they can manage to grow some weed at their house.  I’ll give you a hint if you are asking yourself that question right now… Consistency is the key.  As long as you can be consistent with watering, feeding, etc. then you can be successful.  Of course there is some research that needs to be done as well but that’s what the internet is for!  If you are curious please come in and ask any questions you might have because we are more than happy to discuss it with you as well. We currently have Northern Lights and Green Crack clones on the shelf ready to be adopted so come say hello.

We know a lot of people have been anxious for shops to start offering concentrates. For those of you that don’t know, concentrates are pure forms of extracted THC/CBD stripped from the plant matter using various methods.  We are very excited to announce upcoming products coming from our friends at Einstein Labs in Anchorage.  These guys are the real deal, so expect some awesome things from them found here on the shelves at Pakalolo Supply Company very soon. First up in their lineup of products will be concentrate vape pens and shatter!! Allllllright! 🙂 They are in the process of getting everything extracted, tested and packaged for retail as we speak. We will keep you updated over the next couple weeks….

We have another flower room closing in on harvest containing returning favorites such as Mauna Kea WFOG, Northern Lights and the newest on the team, AK Blueberry! The Strains They Are A-Changin’

Aloha Fairbanks! We are long overdue on giving you an update on how things are rolling down at Pakalolo Supply Company.  We are happy to say the ball could not be rolling more smoothly with our new hours.  While they provide consistency to the customers knowing we will have product for their purchasing pleasure every weekend, they also allow us to work on projects behind the scenes that make showtime as enjoyable as possible every Friday and Saturday.  We are focused on improving each area of our operation which allows the business as a whole to work like a well oiled machine (so cliche bro). We have news to bring you from each of those areas today that will get you excited about what’s just on the horizon, or has already arrived… Let’s dab right in!

What Is On the Horizon

In addition to the sun, which is creeping higher above the horizon as we inch closer to summer solstice, we have began brand new genetics in our cultivation.  I must emphasize the word ‘began’ as we have just germinated the seeds.  So maybe it’s a little farther than the horizon, but I must also emphasize the ‘brand new’ part because these are strains from our ‘ohana (family) in Hawaii, the Pua Mana Pakalolo  seed bank, that will soon be apart of our signature strain series (yep, the gold poptop).  Similar to Mauna Kea White Fire OG, these new genetics have never been cultivated at the industrial level until they entered our possession. In fact they have only been grown by our braddas from Pua Mana  because they just bred the genetics relatively recently.  We have started both Maui Mango Diesel and Caramel Kona Coffee Kush.  Besides having the coolest strain names ever, we have heard only admiration about the quality, look, smell and taste.

The Caramel Kona Coffee Kush is a cross between Caramel Kush and a Hawaii born strain, Kona Gold.  The description from Leafly follows:

“Kona Gold is a sativa strain that has traveled far from its native origin, the volcanic soils of Hawaii’s Big Island. Soaring cerebral-focused euphoria captures the mind while leaving the body light and functional, making this sativa a perfect pair with or replacement for your morning cup of coffee. A tropical medley of pineapple and citrus flavors are cut by a sharp sour aroma that could almost be compared to diesel fuel”

Maui Mango Diesel is a cross between Brooklyn Mango:

“Brooklyn Mango, bred by Dr. Underground, is a hybrid that combines Ed Rosenthal Super Bud with NYC Diesel. The resulting buds carry a mix of diesel and tropical fruit flavors, like pineapple, mango, and lemon. The effects of Brooklyn Mango are a mix of cerebral energy with calm and comforting body relaxation.”

and Maui Wowie:

“Maui Wowie (not Maui Waui) is a classic sativa whose tropical flavors and stress-relieving qualities will float you straight to the shores of Hawaii where this strain was originally born and raised. We are proud to add these signature, unique strains to our cultivation so that we can soon share it with the people of Alaska.  Alaska and Hawaii have always had a strong connection being the outlying states who’s cultures vary to a large degree from the rest of the 48.  We wanted to continue that tradition with Pakalolo Supply Co. and being able to cultivate these new strains, that are an evolution of these very old and storied traditional Hawaiian genetics, allows us to do that.  We are very excited for the day we are able to put a poptop with these genetics inside in your hand and transport you to the Hawaiian Islands.

Don’t worry, until then we have another new strain that is much closer to being packaged and put on our shelves for retail.  This strain is called Jilly Bean and one batch is already in the flowering stage.  Though it has not been in our store before it is well known as it won the Denver Cannabis Cup in 2014.  The description from leafly follows:

“Jillybean is described as being an upbeat and happy hybrid, with flavors of tangy orange and mango. This strain is a top choice for creative minds and social butterflies looking for unencumbered euphoria during daytime hours. Bred by crossing Orange Velvet andSpace Queen, Jillybean often expresses herself in deep hues of maroon on the leaves.”

It is a beautiful plant and we hope the high is just as beautiful.  Our hopes are definitely high since it won the Denver Cannabis Cup.  If you have tried it let us know what you think in the comments!

We have successfully created a new type of currency here at Pakalolo Supply Company.  It does have its limits as it can only be redeemed at our retail store but that’s what makes it so cool!  Introducing… PakaCash!
